As one of the trusted names in home entertainment technology, LG offers its 42LV4400 LED-LCD HDTV. It measures 42” diagonally and boasts of a full HD 1080p resolution and its TruMotion 120Hz.
The LG 42LV4400 has impressive initial specs and comes at a much lesser price compared to other competing brands. Sports have become more exciting, movies are immersive and shows that are all-time favorites have never looked better. That’s taking entertainment a notch higher!
Simple Design
The new LG 42LV4400 comes with a bezel and a 20-degree swiveling base in piano black. The small piece of plastic trim along the bottom is of opaque gray.
There are stereo speakers on the bottom of the television set and the LG logo is very discreetly displayed. The thickest part of this very thin LED LCD TV is about 1.75”, excluding the base.
It is very lightweight that a single person can easily move it from one location to another. It is made of good quality construction materials and the swivel base, unlike those found in other brands, allows the set to move easily in either direction.
Behind the bezel, the following buttons are hidden: the Power, Menu, Channel, Input and Volume, along with 3 ports – 1 for USB and 2 for HDMI. At the rear portion of the left hand side, these parts can be found: 1 RGB PC, 1 analog and digital audio out, 1 Component or Composite, 1 HDMI port and 1 RF cable.
The LG 42LV4400 has a very easy-to-use remote and on-screen menu system. It has a sleep and schedule timer and closed captioning. It enables the user to view photos via the USB jump drive, and turn off the screen while the audio is on.
The set also comes with the standard remote control and a 400mm x 200mm VESA Compatible.
The TV screen is matte, making it a superb choice for any room with plenty of windows. Unlike the typical glossy screens on other brands, the screen on the LG 42LV4400 has no glare issues.
Video
For the video, the aspect ratio correction has 6 modes (4:3, 16:9, Original, Just Scan, Zoom and Cinema Zoom).
The color temperature control has 3 modes to choose from (warm, medium and cool), while the Picture Mode has 5 modes namely, Vivid, Standard, Sports, Cinema and Games.
Audio
For the audio, the LG 42LV4400 has a one-way speaker system, bass, treble and balance controls, and 5 sound modes (Music, Standard, Cinema, Sports and Games).
Picture Quality
This is the main highlight of the LG 42LV4400. With its full HD 1080p resolution, this reasonably-priced LED set provides sharp and clear high definition picture, as well as nice color, detailed bright scenes and smooth motion.
With almost twice the regular pixel resolution, the LG 42LV4400 has superior picture quality as directly compared to any standard HDTV. The full HD 1080p provides amazing color and details like never experienced before.

Sound Quality
The LG 42LV4400 has a good sound quality with a plentiful volume that is ideal for a room setting. To get5 the desired big screen experience, have the LCD set hooked up to any surround sound system.
This 42-inch HDTV has enhanced noise reduction feature. The screen noise is considerably minimized so as not to compromise picture quality.
TruMotion 120Hz
Equipped with a TruMotion 120Hz refresh rate, the LG 42LV4400 provides fast-moving entertainment. You can see sports, high-speed action and video games with less motion blur.
Use the sports setting for a great sports TV viewing. If you have HD digital broadcast or HD cable, you will find any blurring hardly noticeable.
